Angélica María Vielma is an Art and Archaeology Program 2 major. A Texas native, Angélica distracts herself from the cold of winter by making both documentary and narrative films. She hopes 1080p will help better integrate film into the arts community here at Princeton. She is excited to film the squirrels in the spring.

AMANDA MORRISON ’19

Amanda is from Helena, Montana, majoring at the Woodrow Wilson School with certificates in East Asian Studies and Film and Video Production. In addition to filmmaking, she is also passionate about dance, public speaking, yoga, and mountain climbing. She spent recent summers studying Chinese in Beijing, performing with a theatre company in Montana, and working on a short documentary about clean water projects in rural Kenya. She hopes to use the film medium to explore, expose, and inspire!

CHIARA FICARELLI ’19

Chiara is an anthropology major pursuing a certificate in women and gender studies (and possibly other things). She lived in six countries before turning 18 and currently divides her time between campus, her family farm in Italy and her parents’ house in the Philippines. She broke her first camera by dropping it into a pond while trying to photograph fish. Now she prefers staying away from any body of water with her camera and rather focuses on photographing beautiful meals and humans (looking not as beautiful) while eating their meals. She has recently started making documentary films and is exploring working with mixed medias in telling stories.

Janette is a freshman from Orange County, California. Her current interests include urban art and activist art, and loves that she is so close to New York City and Philadelphia now. She picked up her first camera in 6th grade and has been attached to it ever since.

Kate O’Brien is a sophomore majoring in psychology. Hailing from McLean, Virginia, she loves telling stories through images and hopes they are as enjoyable to view as they are to create.

Peter is a documentary & street photographer, mostly shooting strangers on Nassau street now. His photos have been exhibited in Sotheby’s New York City auction house & the Sheila C. Johnson Design Center at Parsons School of Art, and he had a solo exhibit at a wildlife refuge in Queens with a series on local turtles (turtles ftw).

Alex is in the Sociology Department and the Film Deparment. He does photography as well as film and video projects. He interns at DreamWorks and has made YouTube videos since his junior year of high school. He hopes to eventually become a successful filmmaker.

Simon is in the art history department from Philadelphia, also pursuing a certificate in visual arts. He is a maker, specializing in graphic design, installation, sculpture, programming and organizational infrastructures.

Allegra is in the WWS, and loves travel and photography.  She has interned with documentary production companies and hopes to pursue photojournalism while teaching yoga on the side.

Lisa is in love with people and passing moments. Most of her photos are attempts to capture and memorialize the beauty in the unseen and the overlooked. She is currently conducting a photojournalism project on a Dale Scholarship.

Azza first picked up a video camera (and forgot to take off the lens cap) as a freshman. She’s been hooked ever since. Her documentaries have been screened from Trenton to London, focusing on stories of human strength. She is now on a Mitchell Scholarship, studying in Ireland.

Lydia Cornett has worked for Little Monster Films (Chai Vasarhelyi, director of Sundance award winner Meru) and the Amalfi Music & Arts Festival, and currently creates video content for Slate.
